Following an intense competition with around 1600 applicants, the Ministry of Justice have appointed Trevor Meegan as a fee paid tribunal judge.
Gurdeep Garcha represents Dudley man cleared of 2016 Brierley Hill Dixi Chicken Murder
Gurdeep Garcha represented a 21 year old Dudley man who was charged with the murder of of rival drug dealer over what the prosecution described as a drugs “turf war”.
The deceased and defendant had been involved in previous violent confrontations. Events culminated in an incident in October 2016 when the defendant fatally stabbed the deceased outside a fast food takeaway on Brierley Hill High Street.
The defendant admitted that he was in possession of a hunting knife, but argued that the deceased was the aggressor and that he stabbed him in self-defence.
Mr Garcha’s client was acquitted of murder in less than 4 hours following a 7 day trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
