A man charged with breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) has been acquitted.
Jas Dhaliwal’s client was alleged to have breached the SOPO by ‘associating’ with a baby in a pram whilst engaging in conversation with the mother. He was 79 years old and suffered with multiple mental and physical health difficulties, having just been released from emergency hospital care shortly before the first hearing in the Crown Court.
Jas made representations to the prosecution regarding the flaws in the evidence and the lack of public interest in the case continuing.
The prosecution considered Jas’s arguments and offered no evidence. The man was formally acquitted of the charge.
The case was heard at Bristol Crown Court. Jas was instructed by Sat Bains of Duncan Lewis Solicitors
