Trevor Meegan and Simon Rippon secure acquittals in violent disorder case

Following a 6 day trial at Birmingham Crown Court defendants represented by Simon Rippon and Trevor Meegan were found not guilty by a jury of violent disorder.

The case was about a planned street battle that took place in Alum Rock, Birmingham between two groups. The issue was self defence and defence of otthers and the defence successfully adduced evidence of previous incidents. Simon Rippon’s client was said to have played a key role in the incident. Trevor Meegan’s client was 16 years old and of good character. Co-defendants had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.
